This beloved park has a rich history of giving to the community. Here are a few stories of which we're aware. If you have a story to share, please send it our our email address shown below.
A Place of Solace
Two Triangle Park volunteers met a man making deliveries in the area. He told them he used to live in the Francis Drake Hotel, which was located across 10th Street from Triangle Park before burning down on Christmas Day 2019. The Hotel housed around 250 residents and was operated by Hennepin County as shelter overflow for the unhoused in Minneapolis. The man, single and unemployed at the time, lived in the hotel with his daughter. He said life was so bleak he often sat in Triangle Park and cried. Now, he is fully employed, has a permanent residence, and his daughter is grown. He credits Triangle Park with getting him through a difficult time.

A Place of Joy
In September 2026, a young couple was married in Triangle Park. It was a small ceremony with the park serving as a beautiful backdrop for this beautiful couple.
